Amazon vine reviewers hailed [the draft of] (Marvin's) World of Deadheads as "a fresh take on the traditional ghost story, and it's handled with a great deal of style."
And, "Marvin and Tommy are fun guys; I would totally hang out with them. This one's a lot of fun."
Publisher's Weekly said, "The author captures interest immediately when Marvin, a 28-year-old mensch living in Dayton, Ohio, is killed by a bus in front of his condo..."

(Marvin's) World of Deadheads will be available in the Fall of 2012 in both print and ebook.

But Get Ready for Us!

"Total bummer, dude. Sorry, Marvin. Come here and let your Uncle Tommy give you a hug... We did not advance into Round 4. Dude, it's still amazing we made it as far as we did on a first try, isn't it?
Besides, look on the bright side: What this really means is that our story - well, okay, so it's really your story, but me and Mike, we play a major part in it - will be available long before next July! And, Marvin! the Publishers Weekly critique could still be pretty damn good. After all, we tied for 51st place out 5,000 General Fiction entries! And that's saying something!"

Too Soon

Marvin, what a bummer, dude! You blew it big time, buddy. And you promised, man. You promised we'd know today if we made it into Round 4. The list doesn't come out until tomorrow. I am so bummed out...

Well, that's okay, Marv. I know you're still obsessing over Jenna, so your Uncle Tommy forgives you.

Sorry, folks. I'll admit it, sometimes us dead folks can't keep our days straight. I checked the website myself and it defintely says April 24. I hope I didn't scare the librarian firing up one of the computers and checking. I don't think she was paying too much attention, she had a pile of books to check in and put back on the shelves. I realize it's a work day for most of you. So, go back to doing whatever it is you need to do. But, be sure to check back again tomorrow!

Monday, Monday

True thanks to everyone who has stopped by so early on in the game. It means a lot, and  Tommy, Mike and I are thrilled to have you aboard. All three of us were so happy to see you, we did a good deed: we stopped a woman from stepping out into traffic. I opened her purse and Tommy filched a few items and tossed them to the ground so she'd stop. See? Us deadheads aren't such bad folks when you get to know us.

Monday is going to be an important day for the whole gang of us. It's the day Amazon announces who's moved into Round 4 of the Breakout Novel Award. The closer it gets, the more nerve-wracking it will be. I'm excited and scared (yes, ghosts can be scared!) at the same time.

We give special thanks to all you live folks who read the excerpt and left a review. And Mrs. McClaskey commends your good manners. If you haven't surfed your way over to the Amazon site to do that, there's still time. Here's the LINK

We'll post the results here as soon as we all recover from the shock - be it over moving into the next round or licking our wounds for not making it. Of course, the wounds won't be fatal (we're already dead, remember?).

Kindle App for Nook

Hello Fellow Deadheads Fans!

The issue of Nook vs Kindle has come up; readers who want to meet Marvin but don't own a Kindle. There are two ways to resolve the issue.

1. Amazon PC App is a FREE download which enables you to read any publication released for Kindle on your computer.

2. Calibre E-book Management software is a FREE download which can convert Kindle to Nook, or Nook to Kindle. I've used it myself to convert the final two installments of The Hunger Games. It was quick and easy!

I hope this resolves the issue for you. Personally, I'd suggest the Calibre route - then you have can read any e-book you want on the device you want. Perfecto!

Here's the link to the (Marvin's) World of Deadheads excerpt - so you don't have to log to the original post!

Marvin will be so glad you stopped by. And don't forget to then go back and leave your review so the judges will know how much you really, really, really want to read the rest of the book!

(Marvin's) World of Deadheads

(Marvin's) World of Deadheads is the first installment of the planned Deadheads series of books. Once you get started, you'll be hooked on Marvin and his ghostly gang.

You can get a sneak peek at Marvin by visiting my official website: Paul Atreides and browse to the Sneak Peek tab.

Really want to get hooked? Got a Kindle? You can read the first (approx) 5,000 words on Amazon right now! How is that possible you ask? Marvin has advanced into Round 3 of the Amazon Breakout Novel Award contest for 2012 and he'd love you to visit. It's quick. It's easy. It's fun! As one contest reviewer has already stated: "Marvin is a lot more fun now that he's dead and I would totally hang out with these guys!"

Go there NOW for your free download.

Once you've read the excerpt, go back and leave a review. Tell Marvin whether you'd like to know if he succeeds in his efforts to kill Jenna or not.
